ORIGINS OF THE STUDIO

Pure Ink Tattoo was founded in 2017 by Bishal Ghosh in Tinsukia, Assam. Driven by a desire to bridge the gap between traditional street-shop culture and high-end fine art galleries, Bishal envisioned an intimate, calm environment where artistic collaboration could flourish.

Expanding the Boundaries

Over the years, the studio grew into a trusted destination for tattoo enthusiasts in Assam and neighboring regions. Today, we cater to design enthusiasts, artists, and clients seeking bespoke layouts, delicate line precision, and complex details. We pride ourselves on offering a relaxing, private, and pristine workspace for artists and clients alike.

TATTOO AFTERCARE GUIDE

Day 1 - 2

Immediate Protection

The first 48 hours are critical to preventing infections and locking in ink pigment.

  • Keep the protective medical film (e.g., SecondSkin) on for 24 to 48 hours as advised by your artist.
  • If fluid accumulates under the film, that is normal. Do not puncture the wrap.
  • Once wrap is removed, wash the tattoo gently with warm water and fragrance-free antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Do not apply heavy layers of petroleum jelly or thick lotions during this stage.
Day 3 - 6

The Peeling Stage

Your tattoo will start dry-scaling, tightening, and forming a light skin crust.

  • Apply a micro-thin layer of recommended aftercare ointment (e.g. Aquaphor) twice a day. Rub it in fully; the skin should not look shiny or greasy.
  • Wear loose, soft clothing that does not rub against the healing tattoo.
  • Avoid long showers, steam rooms, baths, and swimming pools. Do not soak the tattoo under water.
Day 7 - 14

Itch & Flake

The tattoo will flake off like a mild sunburn and become intensely itchy.

  • Transition to a light, fragrance-free body lotion (e.g., Lubriderm or Cetaphil).
  • Never pick, peel, or scratch the flaking skin. Let it shed naturally. Picking scabbed areas can pull out pigment and create scars.
  • If it becomes too itchy, slap the area gently or apply a cool pack over clothing.
  • Do not perform intense workouts that cause heavy sweating or stretch the tattoo area.
Day 15 - 30

Deep Layer Healing

While the skin surface looks completely healed, the deep layers take up to a month to rebuild.

  • Continue applying mild lotion daily to avoid dry scaling.
  • Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight. Once fully shed (around day 14), apply SPF 30+ sunscreen whenever you go outdoors to prevent color fading.
  • Keep drinking water; hydrated skin keeps tattoos looking sharp and vibrant.
